SCONES


SCONES RECIPE

INGREDIENTS 
500g of cold Margarine 
12 cups of flour
2 cup of sugar
12 tspn of baking powder 
2 tspn of baking soda
3 tspn of vanilla essence 
6 eggs(1 for brushing)
1L of sour milk
Scones cutter

INSTRUCTIONS 
-Preheat oven at 180degrees.

DRY INGREDIENTS 
-Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda then add sugar and whisk. 
-Grate margarine, add to the mixture and rub together with finger tips until it resembles breadcrumbs.

WET INGREDIENTS 
-Beat eggs and mix with amasi and vanilla essence.

-Mix DRY and WET ingredients together using spatula and hands.

-Slightly dust flour on the surface. 
-Spread the dough and roll it out with a rolling pin or use the palm of your hand to flatten it to about 2cm.
-Grease baking tray.
-Cut into shapes and place it in a baking tray while diping your cutter in the flour to avoid dough sticking on it.
-Beat an egg and brush it on top of scones.
-Bake for 15 to 20min or until golden brown depending on oven type.
