Churros Recipe
Ingredients:
140g flour (1 cup)
220ml water (1 cup)
40g butter
2 medium eggs (approximately 120g in shell)
1 tablespoon of sugar
Instructions:
Prepare the Churro Dough:
In a saucepan, combine the water, butter, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil and the butter is fully melted.
Add Flour:
Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the flour until it forms a smooth, thick dough. Make sure there are no lumps.
Incorporate Eggs:
Allow the dough to cool slightly, and then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. The dough should become smooth and glossy.
Prepare for Frying:
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large, deep saucepan to 350°F (175°C). Make sure you have enough oil for frying; it should be deep enough to fully submerge the churros.
Pipe the Churros:
Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped tip.
Fry Churros:
Carefully pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, using scissors to cut the dough to your desired length. Be cautious to avoid splattering hot oil.
Fry Until Golden:
Fry the churros until they turn golden brown and crispy, usually for about 2-4 minutes. Ensure they are evenly cooked on all sides.
Drain and Coat:
Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove the fried churros from the oil. Allow them to drain on paper towels briefly.
Coat with Sugar:
While the churros are still warm, roll them in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon (if desired) for extra flavor.
Serve Warm:
Churros are best enjoyed while still warm and fresh. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce, such as chocolate, caramel, or dulce de leche.
Enjoy:
Your homemade churros are ready to be enjoyed as a delightful snack or dessert!
Churros are a classic treat known for their crispy exterior and soft, doughy interior. They are often enjoyed with a dusting of sugar and cinnamon or dipped in various sweet sauces.
