Salted Caramel Cake

๐Ÿ‘‰Ingredients
 • All-purpose flour – 1½ cups
 • Sugar – 1¼ cups
 • Unsalted butter – 1 cup (softened)
 • Eggs – 3
 • Baking powder – 1½ tsp
 • Vanilla essence – 2 tsp
 • Caramel sauce – 1¼ cups
 • Heavy cream – ¼ cup
 • Sea salt – as needed

๐Ÿ’‍♂️Instructions
 1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a round cake tin.
 2. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
 3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla essence.
 4. Sift flour and baking powder together and gently fold into the batter.
 5. Pour batter into the prepared tin and bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
 6. Let the cake cool completely, then slice horizontally if layering.
 7. Warm caramel sauce slightly and mix with heavy cream for a smooth consistency.
 8. Spread caramel sauce between layers and over the top of the cake.
 9. Sprinkle sea salt lightly on top for the salted caramel finish.
